About the Artist
Sue Miller works from her kitchen overlooking the beautiful D'Entrecasteaux Channel in Southern Tasmania.
For the past fifteen years she has been producing her popular cards and prints from small naive paintings depicting life in Tasmania. However not long ago the digital printer finally gave up and Sue has decided not to continue with the cards, for a while at least. Most of the images will still be available as A4 or A3 prints (as this process uses another printer).
The time involved in printing and packing cards will now be available for something new and Sue's latest adventure has been to produce twenty canvases with the theme 'A day on the beach' (Kingston Beach). These will be displayed for sale on 30 and 31 August 2008 as part of a studio trail in the lower Channel.
Sue's studio is located at 17 Rainbirds Rd Flowerpot.
Sue has been painting all her life, she studied Art at the Hobart School of Art, obtained her Masters degree after studying and lecturing in Mexico and has exhibited in group and solo exhibitions in Tasmania and overseas.
Her work is continually changing and evolving - 'every painting is a new adventure with a new set of challenges.' She is looking forward to developing her photography, painting more outdoors and improving her computer skills. And she's planning an exhibition in the Elysium Gardens in November!
