Current Exhibition - 'Painting in the Garden'

The following nine paintings are the result of five weeks painting in the beautiful Elysium Gardens at Garden Island Creek. I painted through the Autumn, as the leaves turned and the light changed. I chose seven of my quick sketches to enlarge onto canvases. I would have only spent about an hour in the garden on each image so they were very much just an expression of what it felt like to be there. In completing the canvases I tried to keep that free spontaeous first impression.
The other paintings on the site are works of Kingston Beach south of Hobart which were painted last summer.
